That Brown Smokey Eye

As promised, here's the complete breakdown of the look I wore with Dior Vernis Poison, with complete product list at the bottom of the post.

L-R: GA Eyes to Kill Intense #15, Burberry Eyeshadow in Taupe Brown and Porcelain

By Terry Blush Terrybly Exotic Pink #2

Bobbi Brown 24 Karat Shimmer Brick

This smokey eye is particularly easy to achieve. I applied Burberry Taupe Brown with the LMdB Eye Crease Brush all over my eyelid, blending it outward toward my brow bone, then with my ring finger (use your ring finger when handling sensitive areas because it applies the least pressure!), I patted Giorgio Armani ETK #15 over my eyelid. I applied Porcelain under the brows and blended it into the brow bone. A flick of liner close to the upper lashes and a couple coats of mascara, then I smoked out the lower lash line with Taupe Brown to balance the heavy eye.

For cheeks: Chanel Notorious under cheekbones, By Terry Exotic Pink on apples, and Bobbi Brown 24 Karat Shimmer Brick above cheekbones. A slick of Chanel Troublant on lips.

And that's all there is to it!

    1. Funny thing is I find it hard to pull off smokey browns (gray is easier for me) but since taupe brown leans cool it works!

  6. I. LOVE. IT. Seriously, it's absolute perfection on you! (And I didn't comment when you debuted it, but your haircut is AMAZING!) Now I want to try a smokey eye, even though my eyeshadow applying skills are...rudimentary, hah!

    1. The beauty about this look is eyeshadow applying skills are not necessary! It's really a slap-on kind of deal.

  8. Ah you have just reminded me that it is time to bust out my Troublant from the depths of my "beauty closet"/beauty stash disaster. Looks so pretty on you--and I LOOVE how you did your eyes! :D

    1. Thanks! Eyebrows (or lack thereof) are the bane of my existence.

  11. I love the complexity you've created: this definitely isn't your garden variety brown smoky eye. You're absolutely beautiful and so is this look!

  13. Such an elegant yet dramatic look! That smoky eye would not look quite the same if you still had long hair. I'm loving these look/product breakdowns.

    1. Having short hair really does force everything to the forefront, doesn't it? I have this "face the world" approach now. If anyone looks at me I look them straight back in the eye :P
