Leigh of Creature of Design (who has super online shopping senses) alerted me to the early release of On the Coast on saks.com. Only sixty of this kit is produced and at least two of them are already gone. Just sayin'.
Enter LEMETIER2 during checkout to receive a free Bora Bora eye palette. Thank you Ann for sharing!
Update: This is way too much drama for a Monday! As you all know, the On the Coast eye kit was released to saks.com early and caused many to miss out on purchasing. Due to overwhelming response, the company has decided to produce more of the kits to (hopefully) meet the demand. They released this statement on their Facebook page regarding the issue:
Our sincerest apologies! Both Le Métier de Beauté and the Saks.com team did not know that the page would go live prior to the announced launch date. A glitch in their system pushed the page out earlier than planned and for that we sincerely apologize.
Due to the overwhelming outcry for “On The Coast,” we are going to do something that we have never done before… make more. Keep an eye on Saks.com for the page to go back up -> you will be able to pre-order “On The Coast” until Friday, April 27th at 12pm or until supplies last.
Thank you for your passion and…we’re listening!
Two? Make that four....
ReplyDeleteOh - also - for anyone who hasn't ordered yet...don't forget the GWP code! It's LEMETIER2 and gets you a GWP trio :)
ReplyDeleteAnn- wait I didn't know that! Thanks for the heads up (a little too late for me but i'll update the post)
ReplyDeleteat least another one for me! Weehee!! :-) Leigh is amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnother one gone. Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad On the Coast is the online exclusive. It's the only one of the Saks ones I wanted.
And thanks Ann for the code!!
actually, it's OOS now! I guess it really was 60 o_o
ReplyDeleteIts already SOLD OUT! Unfair to us ladies that only wanted 1 and will actually use it and not store it for collection purpose or resell. Its just unfair for the ladies that purchased 2 or more and not allow others to purchase limited quanity items becomes very frustrating. Sorry for the rant...
ReplyDeleteMy spidey sense had been tingling! Congrats to those of you who scored this kaleidoscope. The posters here are among the friendliest and most positive I've ever met.
ReplyDeleteJane- yes she is :) Congratulations on scoring the palette!
ReplyDeleteLaci- lucky you!
stephanie- yes, I checked with the company. It's sixty for all three, so if you're looking at the other two good time to call and pre-order ><
MandiMomof3- I'm so sorry to hear that :( I don't like scalpers as well. Those eBay prices are atrocious. Hope you have better luck with the other two (if you wanted them).
Leigh- Thanks Leigh's spidey sense!
haha 60 only + an unexpected early release... guessing saks is going to hear of quite some complaints :) glad I managed to snag one!
ReplyDeleteThere seem to be a lot of people who are really upset at not being able to get one of these, though I think the outlash at LMdB might be a little unwarranted. It seems more like a Saks issue - they probably uploaded the collection along with routine weekly maintenance, instead of waiting for the properly announced date. I was lucky enough to stumble across Leigh's comment because I was up at odd hours of the night, and was able to get one for myself and for a friend.
ReplyDeletePlus "only" 6 every 30 days? That was a clear oversight, and I can see scalpers purchasing the limit only to resell later - I bet they'll be on ebay in five days. I really hope more are made - it's possible, right? If I remember correctly, a 2nd batch was made for Antiquite Poupee...
Oh that sucks. I missed it. Do you know if LMdB will make another batch like Ann says they did with the AP one? I'm sure so many ppl are bummed they didn't get On the Coast...
ReplyDeleteagree with Ann... the whole 6 per customer thing is going to lead to much ebay scalping, and the backlash is quite insane... the vitriol on FB is rather scary. I'm more inclined to blame Saks, but of course it is also true that it's LMdB that did the promoting -- if you want to get everyone excited, you'd better get your information right. all I can say is, hardly an auspicious beginning to LMdB @ saks.
ReplyDeletealso, does anyone else think LMdB has way too many exclusive kaleidoscopes? :S always feels a bit like raising everyone's hopes and generating hype over what may not be that exciting. I think only on the coast was terribly tantalizing and even then, I'm worried I have dupes of the browns.

ReplyDeleteI am really tired of the exclusives, the chase of the product (only to find that 75% of the time there is a dupe in there which is renamed so you can't make an intelligent purchasing decision) and the lack of any permanent kaleidoscopes. Seriously, I love LMdB but I am not going to be a customer for long if this is the way it continues to be.
ReplyDelete60 pieces for an exclusive for a major retailer, specially when you start a large PR campaign around them ...this is usually not a good idea...specially when you are a young brand... Anyway, do you thing there is any way the LMDB could indicate the closest shades from the core e/s which could replicate this kaleidoscope... That would be nice of them...at least ;)
ReplyDeleteIf you look now, LMDB issued a statement on their Facebook page regarding the"On the Coast" kaleidoscope. It was a saks issue that caused the page to go up early and they are making more of the kaleidoscope to appease everyone.
