One of my favorite things about this year's summer are the fun glosses! After a drab winter, all I want to do is wear super outrageous colors. Since my wardrobe is typical New Yorker black, white, and gray (I need to change this), I get my dose of brights on my fingers and lips.
The Dior Addict Ultra Gloss formula is one of the pleasant ones. It's incredibly lightweight, non-sticky, and fragrance free. That said, I rarely buy them because a couple of my old ones leaked, and what makes the formula amazing is probably what hinders it as well, as the glosses tend to disappear rather quickly from the lips. If Orange Pareo was any less of a shade, I wouldn't have purchased it.

It's funny, I always thought wearing orange would accentuate my yellowness, but seeing these photos, I guess it really doesn't. In fact, I think it rather complements my skintone. I guess it's a good reminder to always try something before writing it off, because we never know when the unexpected might work!
Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Orange Pareo retails for $28 and should be available at counters nationwide soon, if not already.
Update: A reader asked how Orange Pareo compares to Le Métier de Beauté Orange Juiced. I think the latter subtly alters my lip color, whereas Orange Pareo is more pigmented and noticeable at first glance. Orange Juiced contain more sparkles.
Edit: A reader pointed out that Nordstrom called the gloss Orange Pareo instead of Orange Sari as earlier press releases indicated. Since Sephora also has it as Orange Pareo, I suppose the company decided to rename it as such, I have edited the post to reflect this.
I'm not a fan of orange color but I really like this lip gloss! it looks so beautiful on your lips :-) yeah that's true this color complements your skintone :)
ReplyDeleteHmm I love it on you! I used to be really afraid of orange though, but recently I've come to realize it's actually not a bad color for those with a yellow undertone! Way to go Wands!
ReplyDeletehow does it compare to LMdB's orange juiced?
ReplyDeletecaise- thank you! it was definitely a surprise.
ReplyDeleteSunny- Haha! Way to go us :) that's one new color to have fun with.
Anonymous- definitely more pigmented. Orange Juiced subtly alters the color of my lips, whereas you can see Orange Sari full on, if you know what I mean.
I love the gloss on you! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI used to hesitate wearing orange because of my strong yellow undertone but I have been having fun wearing orange this season. Like you said, we should try it first before writing it off completely. The gloss looks very nice on you.
ReplyDeleteI love it!!! An easy way to orange and be on trend for sure!
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing Orange Juiced right now, ha! I do love how it subtly enhances my lips, but Orange Sari is at the top of my wishlist. I think orange is a great alternative when you're tired of pinks and reds.
ReplyDeleteIs it bad that I'm attracted to the pocket watch rather than the Dior?
ReplyDeleteDanielle- :)
ReplyDeletePaige- Thank you!
Trakee- I wanna see you wear it!
Leigh- YES. Needed to switch it up!
Sharon- not at all :P I have a weakness for pocket watches
gorgeous lip color! looks amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteWands! You're making me want this even more, now. *shakes fist*
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I like that its orange but not in your face. Oh and the eyes! Urgh. I still can't decide if I want that trio :P
ReplyDeleteSo, is orange sari the same as orange pareo? That's the name listed on Nordstrom.com as part of dior's summer collection... I want the gloss you have on! ;-)
ReplyDeleteNiki- Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteLarie- I live for this!!
Paris- (the answer is yes)
Anonymous- Yes, sorry about that. Earlier press releases called it Orange Sari, but I guess they went with Pareo instead. I've edited the post to reflect the name change.
Did keep the rose croisette gloss and what do you think about it?
