These pictures make me want to cry. My skin does not look like that anymore. Especially now, just emerging out of the cave I lived in to write my final papers, a quick inspection shows new acne scars, enlarged pores, ingrown brow hairs (!!), a pimple or three around my face. It's the beauty blogger equivalent of falling from grace. Perhaps skincare posts should ensue?
Anyway, while I fix up my face, I thought I would share my favorite fool-proof nude lip combo: Guerlain Rouge Automatique #103 topped with Le Métier de Beauté Bondi Beach Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss. While many cite daring reds as their go-to special occasion lip, I prefer mine to be non fuss and impossible to screw up. I worry too much while wearing reds to really have a good time!
An oversight: I just realized I don't have any photos of Rouge Automatique #103 in my folder. If anyone wants a swatch, let me know and I'll try to do it soon.

There aren't many makeup items I will repurchase if I lose or finish them, but RA #103 and Bondi Beach are two that I will run out and buy as soon as I don't have one in my reach. You cannot imagine how grateful I am that they're both permanent items.
If memory serves me, I packed Burberry Taupe Brown eyeshadow on my eyes, then dabbed a little of Armani Eyes To Kill Intense #14 at the center of the lid. Cheeks are courtesy of Chanel Tempting Beige, one of my all time favorite blushes!
I can't stop STARING at your gorgoeus face! I keep scrolling back up and STARING. I feel creepy now. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lip combo! I will need to check these both out.
Ok I better leave before I stare some more! :)
Beautiful combo! They are both lovely on their own, but together...magic!
ReplyDeleteBoth are gorgeous on their own; but omg, that combo? STUH-NING!
ReplyDeleteGreat combo! LMdB really is built for layering, even with other brands. Yesterday I was at Neiman Mazza getting a Capitol Kaleidoscope makeover, and I already was wearing Guerlain Rouge G in Gisele. Michael simply applied some Cap D'Antibes to the center of my lips, and the effect was stunning! <3 LMdB
ReplyDeleteyes your mission is now complete, i now shamelessly want to buy everything you have applied on your beautiful face. oh the hip pocket will be a hurtin'.
ReplyDeleteYes, skincare posts, PLEASE! The aftermath of exams and general bad habits has left me with dark marks (ex spots) all over my forehead :( Would love to hear what your solutions are!
ReplyDeleteTracy- ahhhh! /smothers in hugs
ReplyDeleteMakeup Magpie- yes!
dani- it's a well-earned HG for sure!
Leigh- Ah Cap d'Antibes. Don't remind me, I was playing with it the entire time I was at the counter last but didn't pick it up. How do you like Capitol?
tishme- *stands in salute*
TSGTNP- I fear some of these acne scars will forever remain! Oh the horror. I've been wanting to write a post about my general skincare routine for a long time though.
Nobody that loves you is going to notice any little scars... but if you are worried there are some laser treatments that can help, or use a cosmetic like Covermark or Dermablend. Honestly it took me 5 minutes to even see what you were talking about! And I work in photography some... lovely photos :)
ReplyDeleteA stunning look! Don't worry about the scars - I've got one under each eye! One was from a childhood skin infection and the other one was from walking into a tree branch in Barbados!
ReplyDeleteXiao, Capitol is gorgeous! The gold-copper shimmering taupe (#3 shade) is unbelievable, and the other three shades hold it up well. Michael was very creative in his application. The whole makeover is up on my blog now. Perhaps you can let me know what you think.
ReplyDeleteAUi- haha these pictures were taken five months ago :x when I referred to acne I was talking about the current condition of my face. I'm not too worried about them, hopefully they will subside - though when I have acne that are too obvious I usually avoid the camera for my readers' sake :P
ReplyDeleteJamilla- eep bad Barbados tree branch!
Leigh- I'm glad Capitol worked out for you :) The third shade is actually a repromote from Penelope (which I think you don't have? so yay!). I think it's pretty but it's not my absolute favorite kaleidoscope ever.
Ooooh you're gonna enjoy my next two posts~
Glad to know about the third shade, since I got into LMdB right around when Penelope sold out. Now I have to ask: Which one IS your absolute favorite kaleidoscope ever? ;)
