Monday Purples

So, we've established that beauty blogging is hella fun - but sometimes it's really fun. Like when you find a shade of lavender and lilac lipstick and gloss that somehow manages to suit you perfectly.

I told my boyfriend I wish my lips were that shade originally, and he said, "but aren't they?"

That said, I put my hour of watching AMC's The Walking Dead to good use - finally utilizing the Halloween Sally Hansen nail strips I was harping about some time ago. There's definitely a learning curve to these things, but I managed to finish both hands using only one packet (the box comes with two) so a lucky friend of mine will be getting some green fingers tomorrow.

Is it okay if I want to end this post here? I just really liked the lip color. And my hair. My hair was being so nice the whole time during the shoot. I guess we'll do this. Do you like the lavender/lilac lips? Wanna guess the shade?

  1. You are so lucky that you look good in cool, purple shades! I look like a corpse! Love the nails, too!

  2. That is a pretty colour, wish I could rock such a shade. I love The Walking Dead too! Is it Lmdb Purple Haze?

  3. Wow what is this purple lippie you put on...do tell! It's gorgeous! I have similar olive undertone in my skin but always steer clear of purple on my lips...you've made me v curious now...;-)

  6. I've always been bad at guessing games, so I'll just say you look great.

By the way, Beauty Look Book has put up Dior's holiday 5-color eye palette. Is it still on your want list? Would love to know your opinion on it.

  8. Unfortunately, LMdB doesn't do anything as off-kilter as this :) Well, silly silly me forgot to snap a picture of the tube itself but I'll get on it with it asap! The lipstick is no longer available for sale though, I hope you guys won't throw things at me O.O

@Leigh UM. Truth be told, i wasn't expecting the shimmerbomb. I'll still go to the counter to try it but I'm not *that* excited to anymore. What did you think about the palette?

  9. Xiao, I had a similar reaction to the swatches. I can do shimmer, but these look downright frosty. Still, I'm going to check it out in person. I remember vacillating over Guerlain's Les Bois de Roses online, until I tried it in person and instantly fell in love. Photos are only half the story, no?

  10. You look amazing in purple lips! I don't know that I dare wear them :P They don't seem to look as good in warm weather as in cool. Oh and aren't those Sally Hansen nail wrap thingys amazing?!

  11. @Leigh That's true. Speaking of: I need to pick up some of the new Guerlain palettes. Their shadows have this sheen I just can't find anywhere else.

@Paris B I don't know if I'd do half the things I do here back home :) They are! I can't wait to see what they're doing for Christmas!

  12. Is it Violetta (MAC) w/ some clear gloss? Could be Illamasqua's Underworld too... Anyway, looks gorgeous on you :)

  13. loving that violet lip combo!

How are you liking Season 2 so far? It's a bit slow but I hope it means that the rest of the episodes will be non-stop action!

  14. And being from The Bay Area - I appreciate your usage of the word 'HELLA'

  15. LOL lexi! I think season 2 would be great if it followed in the same vein of the first 40 minutes of the first episode. The second ep was a little meh to be honest, but it doesn't deter me from the show.
